Brief Profile: Graduated as high school valedictorian. Started at a California Community College...got off to a rocky start at first (lots of W\'s), but brought grades up by my sophomore/junior years. Eventually earned my Bachelor of Life Science and Master of Physical Therapy degrees at Loma Linda University about ten years ago (Magna Cum Laude.) Very involved in ASB in high school/college and completed the yearbook for my Master\'s class. Worked as a full-time physical therapist in a variety of settings for two years, then changed to full-time teaching (middle school science) and part-time physical therapy for six years. Taught under-served students in a low-income area of California. Started a drama program for these kids that was a successful community endeavor for six years. Participated in church service, as well. Now a single mom with three daughters...this will be a crazy adventure, to say the least.

I took a leave of absence from teaching and completed my prerequisites the year before I applied. I took the MCAT nine days after finishing Physics, Orgo, and Bio sequences. Gen Chem was nearly fifteen years old....anyway, I was pretty happy with my scores based on that. Waiting another year to study for the MCAT just wasn\'t a reasonable option at my age, and I got in to my top choices, so I guess it was the right decision!!!

Just a note to those of you who are non-traditional applicants...don\'t let anyone tell you that you CAN\'T do it. With the right mindset, some family support, and a heck of a lot of hard work, ANYTHING can be accomplished!!!

Hope my profile inspires some of you out there! God makes good things possible. All the credit for my blessings go to Him. (Don\'t mean to sound like a fanatic, but that\'s what I believe, and I am deeply grateful!)
