Summary of Application Experience
Hopefully I can get some love from my state schools. Numbers are about average (3.5/30), but hopefully a strong PS, solid clinical experience, and applying early can make up for it.
6/29- First rejection: Wake Forest, I hope this is not a strong indicator for the next few months.
8/29- Rejection #2: Vanderbilt. Wasn't expecting much here, but would have been nice to stay close to home. Currently losing the rejection v. interview battle....2-0
9/19- Rejection #3: Georgetown. I would have actually considered going here, but unfortunately that's only with the notion that they don't reject me first. :-/. I know its 'still early,' but i just want this whole process to be over. I don't think i can take a whole year of this.
9/20 - I GOT AN INTERVIEW!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, i'm so excited. I want to just go tomorrow. Oh, i got the invite at Univ. of South Alabama. It's no harvard, but hey, an MD is an MD and that's ALL I WANT!!! WOO!!!
10/12 - Just got back from my first interview at Univ. of South Alabama. I think the interview went really well, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up too much. I should hear back within a month or so. *fingers crossed*
10/12 - Best day ever. I get back to campus to find the interview invitation from Drexel in my mail box. Yay! I'm going to Philly.
10/19 - Interview scheduled for Drexel on 1/11. I want to hear back from Univ. of South Alabama before booking everything for this one.
10/29 - I GOT AN INTERVIEW FROM UAB!!!! My top choice!!! YAY, I'm going home!!!
11/13 - UAB interview went pretty well. Good to be home for a little while. Now it's time to play the waiting game.
11/15 - I GOT INTO SOUTH ALABAMA!!! WOO HOO! I'm gonna be a DOCTOR!
11/21 - Rejection #4: Case Western. Ah well, I heard Cleveland is probably too cold for me.
11/28 - Invite to UT-San Antonio...never saw this one coming. Debating on whether to take it or not
12/7 - Decided to decline UTSA interview.
12/13 - Offered interview to NYMC. Debating on this one and Drexel. Tuition seems steep at these locations compared to South Alabama (in-state)
12/15 - Offered interview to Penn St. College of Medicine....the pondering continues...
12/28 - Withdrew from Drexel. Not worth the $$$.
1/10 - Came back to campus to see a couple of fat rejections from Tulane and UTMB.
1/23 - I GOT INTO UAB!!!!!!!! TOP CHOICE!! HOORAY!!!!
