I'm a resident of quebec.
Hopefully my stats are encouraging to other people considering applying to the MD/PhD. I'm looking forward to the interview. Hope that I don't have to apply broadly next year.
MD interview's were intense, one went phenomenally well and the second went well, but left certain nagging doubts about my performance. MD/PhD interviews were great.
Got the news, I was accepted into MD-PhD and also got a $10k scholarship in the 1st year. (All subsequent years are on stipend). It can be done if you are honest, have a clear direction, and have the determination to succeed. I was very nervous applying to only one school, but it seems to have panned out quite well. McGill is friendly to those with a strong research background and a variety of life experiences outside of school. I've seen this in my wife's class, as well as in the fact they accepted me. They are very heavily weighted towards in-province applicants though. Hope someone finds this useful.
