Summary of Application Experience

I took the MCAT in July, got my results back at the end of August, complete at most schools at the end of September.

I didn't know I'd be offer to interview at so many DO schools. I sort of wasted money going to places I was pretty confident I wouldn't matriculate at.

The process finally ended June 24, 2008 when I was accepted off the middle third of the waitlist @ UB!!! W/D from SUNY Downstate and set on ***ATTENDING*** University at Buffalo School of Medicine!!! WAHOOOOO :)

Some advice...
- Apply early like they say!
- Do amazing on the MCAT, lol.
- Keep your gpa above a 3.6.
- Also, choose your schools wisely. I should have applied to more southern schools instead of midwest schools (the tuition in TX is f-ing amazing, btw).
- Spend a lot of time on the secondaries after researching the schools. Convince them and yourself that you really want to go there. Don't be generic: mention specifics about each particular school on their application.
- After winter break, if you haven't heard from certain schools that really interest you, send them updates if they let you.
- Oh and if you can, apply as a URM. California schools love that even if your stats are below average.
