Summary of Application Experience
-- Took MCAT in June.
-- Got scores in July and submitted TMDSAS. Processed 8/15.
-- Invited for UTMB interview. Went on 9/28. Really liked the school. Length of school days, PBL, taking one class at a time were all positives.
-- Invited for UTSW interview. Went on 10/6. The campus and facilities were amazing. Dallas seems like a real cool city to live in. Amazing reputation, great students, fun interview day.
-- Invited for Texas Tech interview. Went on 10/12. I ended up picking the El Paso date. If I could do it again, I would have picked the Lubbock date. They didn't seem very organized, and plus it's a long trip to and from El Paso. Have great programs for rural medicine.
-- Invited for UT Houston interview. Scheduled for 10/5, but rescheduled to 10/17. Definitely the best interview day. They really put alot of effort in showing you all the sights at the UT Houston campus. They even go as far as showing you around the Texas Medical Center on a tour bus. I just wish they would have given more pre-match offers out. Texas Medical Center was amazing and so were the brand new facilities at UT Houston. Very tempting to enter match for UT Houston.
-- Invited for UT School of Medicine at San Antonio. Went on 11/5. Dr. Jones gives a great presentation on what they use as criteria for admissions. Loved the city of San Antonio, also loved the unity of the class.
-- Accepted to UTSW on 11/15 at 12:03 AM!!!!
-- Accepted to UT School of Medicine at San Antonio on 11/27!!!
