Summary of Application Experience
Having difficulty coming as a non-traditional student with a stellar MCAT and mediocre GPA. Re-applying after no success last year, but so far have three interviews!
Update (11/1): I finished most of my applications in August with a few stragglers in early October. Strangely enough, I've gotten more response from the late ones than the early. Case and Chicago both responded within two weeks. Feeling much more at ease about the whole process now that I have a few interviews, even if I am competing for waitlist spots.
Update (12/3): Mostly silence from the schools but a couple more leads. One more rejection (Brown) and one more interview (Columbia). First interview is this week!
Update (1/2): One more rejection (UCSF) but no word from the other eight. Not sure whether to write them all off or still have hope! However, I'm enjoying the interview process. Two down and two to go!
Update (2/4): Still no acceptances, but they should be in by the next update. I've now interviewed at U Chicago and Case Western and am so happy because they are both so great! I have options (hopefully)!! Got two more rejections: UCLA (officially) and Northwestern. Just waiting for a single acceptance so I can start withdrawing some of my apps.
Update (3/5): Fantastic news! I'm going to medical school! I still have waitlists at Tufts and Chicago and I should hear from Columbia soon, but so far it looks like I'll be at Case in the fall. Yay!
