What's there to say? I'm a non-trad doing a 180 into medicine because of the lack of human involvement in engineering. It's not so much a preference as a must for my personality.

Summary of Application Experience
11/29 - Accepted at Miami! Still waiting on Boca, which I preferred. They said I'd hear 2 weeks after interview. Today makes it 3...oh well. 11/29 - Well well. Today sure is a good day. Just got the e-mail that I got into Boca as well! Now I have a slightly tougher choice. Honestly, I was leaning Boca, but now I can decide what's best for my family as well. 12/3 - No longer being considered at Mayo. It's OK. I thought it was a miracle I received a secondary. 12/3 - Withdrawing from Drexel and SLU, as I have no interest in these schools anymore. 12/10 - Thin envelope from Georgetown today. Thought I had a good fit; I guess not. 12/11 - Thin envelope from George Washington. Seriously, I think the city counsil of DC decided I was too dangerous to be in the nation's capitol. 12/17 - Invited to SUNY Downstate interview. 1/14 - Interviewd at USF. Very excellent tour and progressive curriculum. They really want to get their students involved. However, seems like certain things I'm interested in are glossed over. Faculty interview went exceptionally well, but I'm really not sure about the student interview. Keeping my fingers crossed. 1/24 - Interviewed at SUNY Downstate. Very interesting. It seems like it's halfway between a really open, progressive school and a school that's really outdated and behind the times. I could do well there, and I think their curriculum is actually the best of the ones I've visited....however, I don't think it would be a good choice for my family. 1/30 - Waitlist from USF. Asked about my position and was told my score puts me somewhere in the middle. Didn't sound positive at all. I don't know what I screwed up, but I'm really sick right now. I loved Miami & especially Boca, but I didn't realize how much I had riding on USF emotionally. It's really important for my life because my fiancee's family is all here, she's gainfully employed in Tampa, and I really want to start a family sometime in the med school/residency years. 5/8 - Well it looks more and more like I'm going to be a Hurricane (FAU campus).
