Brief Profile:
AACOMAS GPA: Overall = 3.64, Science = 3.76 Graduated summa cum laude 160+ Volunteer Hours Psi Chi Member (Psychology Honor Society) Lots of job experience, but in fields unrelated to medicine.
Since this has been asked numerous times..... I graduated with a 3.90, my overall GPA is lower because I have some pretty mediocre grades from a previous university. I started college out of high school, but never completed the degree. I took a few years off school, went back to college and started my entire bachelor's over again. The summa cum laude is from my graduating institution, from which I earned a complete four year degree; i.e. 130+ hours. This is one of the reasons my AACOMAS gpa is so much higher; I had to repeat many of my freshman and sophomore classes, and Osteopathic schools only take your most recent grades into account.

Summary of Application Experience
Very expensive.
Very slow.
I've been complete at a few schools for over 2 months now; starting to feel a bit anxious. All I've had so far are rejections.
Its been six weeks and AACOMAS still hasn't verified my transcripts. Looks like I'm going to miss the MSU application deadline.
AACOMAS finally finished my application. It's pretty late (12/10), but I'm happy with the GPA; its a big step up from my AMCAS numbers.
I called George Washington on 12/07 and asked about my status; received a rejection letter dated 12/06. Wonder why they couldn't just tell me on the phone? The Admissions Office insisted I was still under review.
Received my 5th rejection on 12/14. Still no interviews. Starting to feel like a bit of a pariah.
First interview invite 12/19. I'm pretty happy about moving this process forward. DO applications seem to be going well too, plus I somehow received a secondary from MSU. Thought I had missed the deadline, but everything seems okay.
Pretty disappointed with the OHSU rejection. I had sent update letters to them and Temple just days before receiving the bad news, guess I should have gotten those out sooner. On the plus side, I finally have an acceptance. I'll actually be going to med school next year, and probably in Illinois.
