    Summary of Application Experience

    Timeline:
    8/25 -submitted AMCAS
9/26 -AMCAS verified (did not realize how long it would take to get verified- would have been great to know ahead of time!)
10/5 - submitted U of Cinci, Drexel, and MCW secondaries (no essays)
10/3 - submitted MSU-CHM Secondary (got essay prompts from SDN and had my essays ready to submit before receiving secondary)
    10/15- MSU-CHM request for LOR's
    10/25- Submitted Wayne secondary,
    10/29- complete w/LOR'S @ Wayne and MSU-CHM
    10/30- MSU-CHM interview invite
11/6 - MSU-CHM interview (Very laid back, went in nervous- came out relaxed!) Loved it here!- Want to go to GR during community years
11/27- Phone call from Dr. Schafer to notify me of acceptance to MSU-CHM!
    1/25 - Wayne Interview
4/30 - Waitlist notification from Wayne
    6/13 - Wayne Acceptance

Both Wayne and CHM have alot to offer. Their strengths are different, but ultimately I chose to attend MSU-CHM.

    Summary:

    - When they say get your application in early- DO IT!
I waited to turn my AMCAS in until 8/25 because I spent the
summer in Africa and payed dearly for it because secondaries
are so much more time consuming than one can imagine! This
was very stressful for me to try to find time to complete
all of the secondaries and still focus on school and work.
    - Clinical experience and other strong extracirriculars helped
compensate for lower GPA and MCAT
    - Focus on being well-rounded, doing things that you love, and
participating in things that you can dedicate yourself to.
    - Don't give up! If medicine is truly what you want to do you
you will have to work for it. It won't always be easy- in fact,
most the time it's very stressful- MCAT=hell, waiting=torture,
    but acceptance=amazing!
