Brief Profile: I competed as a scholarship track athlete during my college years. During that time, I also served as an academic tutor to student athletes. I graduated magna cum laude from Samford University, while majoring in Fitness and Health Promotion. After my graduation from Samford, I was initially enrolled in graduate school and served as a graduate assistant. I am the second author to one publication. I completed post-bacc work at the University of West Georgia and served as the assistant cross country coach. I completed research at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham last summer. I also served as a chemistry workshop leader. I currently volunteer at a free medical clinic and work at a Christian school as a math and science tutor for children with learning disabilities. I did work as a personal trainer for 3 months, but I decided it wasn't for me. Regarding my low MCAT score, I have always sucked at standardized tests. I commend the schools that look past my score and see my potential as a physician. After all, practicing good medicine is not a numbers game.
