    Summary of Application Experience

    S = Submitted, C = Complete, II = Invite, I = Interview , W = Waitlisted, A= Accepted, WD = Withdrew

I submitted my primary before taking the July MCAT. I tried to cut my school list down, but paranoia won out. Still, if I were to do it again or give anyone advice, it would be to not overapply!

I've also been shocked at how much financial aid offers can vary. It really is worth holding on to acceptances until you have a picture of what your debt is going to look like!

Some random notes, in case they are helpful to anyone:
? Baylor - Lots of in-state students, basic science condensed to 18 months, OOS students essentially have to buy real estate for residency purposes.
? Case Western - Nice enough school; really dreary location.
? Columbia - Amazing student body, sense of tradition, and extra-curricular opportunities; not-so-nice facilities.
? Cornell - Gorgeous facilities and great location within NYC, innovative curriculum. I loved this school.
? Mayo - Great school, tiny class, great financial aid packages; random location.
? Mount Sinai - Gorgeous facilities, nice P/F system; no opportunities to live alone in student housing. Very warm and fuzzy - everyone seemed about to start holding hands and singing Kumbayah.
? Ohio State - Surprisingly impressive vision, facilities, and location.
? Penn - Impressive; I like the graduate student community and that the basic sciences are condensed to 18 months.
? UC Irvine - Dated facilities, 'young'-feeling student body, very sterile suburban location. I really didn't like this school.
? UCLA - Gorgeous facilities (brand new hospital!), P/F, really innovative systems-based curriculum with 4 hours PBL/week and planned redundancy. Prosection with a part-time summer dissection opportunity that seems like a good companion activity to summer research. Beautiful, tiny housing at Weyburn Terrace. I loved the students, Westwood, and the opportunities for outdoor recreation on the campus. I don't think I'd change anything about this school!
? UCSD - Nice facilities; 'young'-feeling student body, annoying separation of campus and medical center. It seems like students study more than at other schools (presumably for the same outcome).
? University of Michigan - Innovative curriculum and technological resources, nice town; Upper Midwest winters...
? University of Pittsburgh - Impressive student body - lots of maturity and diversity of experience. Surprisingly pretty and livable town, nice student housing.
? Vanderbilt - Nice enough - nothing really struck me as compelling, but I know other people who were deeply impressed.
? Wash U - Amazing facilities, terrible matresses in Olin Hall, surprisingly interesting students. :)

    Good luck!
