Brief Profile:
I've volunteered a few hours a week in a hospital for the last year and a half. I've worked various jobs in the summer, and was just hired to teach at the Princeton Review. I shadowed an orthopedic surgeon for three days and got to see a few surgeries, plus two days in the office. I'm active in my fraternity, having held a number of offices, including Risk Manager and Recruitment Chairman. A few years ago I did close to 80 hours of community service with a University organization.

Summary of Application Experience
11/6 - Continuing to knock them off, beginning to freak out about what I'm going to do from January until I start medical school, which probably won't even be this August. Letters are pending; some people are awesome, others are frustrating, if understandable.
10/20 - Finally got through Toledo's essay, then knocked Tulane off. Then I worked through a bunch over the last few days. DO Secondaries are starting to roll in. The MSU DO app is 14 Word documents. It's ridiculous for a lot of reasons.
9/20 - A few weeks ago Wayne State said 'No thanks.' I'm an in-state student, for pete's sake.
8/20 - DO Application finally submitted. Finished up MSU secondary over the weekend. Haven't gotten a secondary notice in a while, so I think I'm through all the unscreened ones.
8/2 - Finally got my last Letter of Rec taken care of today, though it still needs to be written and submitted. To celebrate, I filled out my first secondary, Cincinnati. Turns out there's no essay?
7/31 - I got two letters today. The first was from Wash U in St. Louis, congratulating me on my MCAT score and suggesting I should apply there. The second was from EVMS stating they had no interest in sending me a secondary. Oh, that I had a 3.7 GPA and a 29 on the MCAT.
7/16 - VCU decided not to send me a secondary. Thanks for saving me money, but wow, this is early to get rejected from anywhere.
6/28 - AMCAS Application processed. Working on my last few Letters of Recommendation.
5/17 - Just getting started applying. Got my MCAT scores yesterday, am obviously thrilled.
