QA/QC testing to FDA standards and worked on product stability research project. -Eight months spent working as chemical engineer in industrial production of citric acid from corn syrup fermentation. Did medium-scale capital and maintenance projects to increase process efficiency and safety. -Aside from one month spent before my freshman year of college doing a small pilot study for lung phenotypes in BTEB-1 gene knockout mice, I didn't do any conventional bench research in college. Instead, when asked in interviews about any research experience I may have had I drew from my ChE project development methods while working in industry.
It might be evident, but I didn't fully decide to pursue medicine until about my junior year. That's why my CV might look a little unconventional.
