8/23/07 - MCAT results - improved from 9PS/6VR/8BS from April 2005

8/25/07 - Still polishing personal statement; feel like I'm late in the process but advisors tell me that I'm not; will apply mostly to DO schools because I like their philosophy of treating the whole body; however, still interested in a few MD programs


Current Expenses:
Will update after I've decided what school to attend (I just can't look at how much I've spent up to this point - waaaay too depressing).

I know where my weaknesses lie (writing, low gpa), so my husband and I decided to shell out the extra cash to make sure my application can be the best it can be. We'll see if it was worth the money!


9/7/07 - AMCAS submitted/waiting to be verified (finally! It took nearly a month to write and revise my personal statement. TAKEAWAY - get started early!!)

9/11/07 - AMCAS not verified, but received first secondary from Wright State

9/18/07 - AACOMAS submitted/waiting to be verified; still need DO and pre-med committee recommendations

10/1/07 - AMCAS Verified

10/14/07 AACOMAS Processed; sent out to schools; Sci GPA - 3.44; Overall GPA - 3.619

11/10/07 - I had a late pre-med committe meeting, so my 'complete' status at most schools was held up by this recommendation. Note to pre-meds: GET THE LETTER IN THE SPRING!

12/13/07 - Interview at Western University

12/21/07 - Interview at UNC

1/12/08 - First acceptance...Western. Yay! My dream is now reality...cool. :)

1/22/08 - Interview at ECU. I really liked the school, mainly for the support students receive from faculty and staff. I could actually see myself attending this school.

1/24/08 - Finally, an interview invite from Wright State. It's been almost 3 months!!!

1/28/08 - 2nd acceptance --> UNC School of Medicine. This was a big surprise and I'm sooo excited. For those late application submitters out there, don't let people pull you down. I was in the same boat and look where I am so far! :) Stay positive and don't let the negativity get to you.

2/25/08 - 3rd acceptance!! Creighton University. I'm very excited, confused, and overwhelmed all at the same time.

2/27/08 - 4th acceptance..woohoo! East Carolina University.

3/13/08 - Waitlisted at Wright State University. This must be a sign for me to leave Dayton. Well, you don't have to tell me twice!

I think I've made my final decision - Creighton University School of Medicine Class of 2012.

5/19/08 - Well, received a very generous financial aid package from UNC-Chapel Hill. However, accepted off Wright State waitlist. The only way I can go to Wright State is if the financial package is better than Carolina's. We'll have to wait and see...

**Attending UNC-CH and loving it! Great choice.
