Brief Profile:
I feel like I'm the mayor of the non-trad applicant zone. Not alot of EC's that are recent - currently working full time to pay for my bachelor's degree.
NREMT-B for the past 2 years. Paramedic for the past 6 months. 100+ hours ER shadowing. EMS volunteer tutor for the past 2 years. 3 years experience as a Memphis, TN, police officer. National Merit Scholar.
For all of you non-trads out there, NEVER give up. As much as it pains me to admit it, on one of my transcipts (out of four!), I have a semester of straight F's. Yep, not just 1 F, but 18 glorious hours of pure zero. I had a reasonable justification, and it was years ago, but still... I was afraid it would completely kill my chances.
The numbers are important, but they aren't the only thing. Keep up the good fight.
