    Summary of Application Experience

8/19/06-Submitted AMCAS and AACOMAS primary applications. Bit late but I worked hard on the applications and I play hard in the summer as well ;)
    Very Excited....
    8/21/06- BU secondary arrives
    9/10/06- Dartmouth secondary arrives
    9/12/06- AACOMAS and AMCAS verification!!
9/13/06- Cornell and Standford online secondary invites
9/21/06-AHHH....no time to work on secondaries. I have gotten a lot of the non-screeners but none sent out yet.
10/1/06-pre-secondary invite at western-Nov 2nd, rejection at U of NM b/c out of state. need to send in secondaries-too busy at work!
10/5/06- Sent in Rochester, Albany, Tufts secondaries (no essays). I am about to send out Dartmouth and CU tomorrow. Also, once I get the osteopathic personal statement done I will be able to send in Touro MI/NV, Western, AZCOM..... I will be working over the weekend. My virtualevals just got sent today so I am not ahead of them but really my apps would not of been complete till now anyway. I had some slow LOR writers (who I very much appreciate still :) )
10/10/06-Sent in UVM, UNECOM secondaries. Got UNECOM interview Nov 11th-very stoked. Still working on getting other secondaries in....
10/12/06-TOURO MI, TOURO NV, and Western secondaries sent in. I am hesitating on some of the city schools-BU, cornell, mt. sinai....I wonder if I will ever hear from UW, Oregon, UC's, etc being outofstate with average numbers.
10/16/06-AZCOM secondary sent out. Called the schools I have not heard from yet concerning secondaries-all said that I am still in line for pre-secondary screening (UC's, Washington, Oregon, UNC,etc. could not get through to HI-maybe b/c of the 6.6 magn. earthquake yesterday?) CU finally considers me complete.
    10/16/06-Touro NV invite!
10/22/06-AZCOM interview invite! and OHSU secondary invite.
10/24/06-Touro-MI interview invite! 5 for 5 on osteo-word up. Allo where you at? I am starting to wonder if I should go to all the interviews? If I do, at least I will get some traveling in...
11/2/06-Western interview went well and I actually liked the school a lot more than I thought I would...plus the tourguide opened the chest of a cadaver mid-way through the tour! Waiting for news from CU, UVM, Darmouth in particular...
11/11/06-Interview at UNECOM was great. I loved the school. Will wait to hear from them in 1-3 wks. and I may cancel any other DO interviews if I get an acceptance there.
11/13/06-Western Acceptance via snail mail...good to have on under the belt!
11/15/06-decided not to complete the stanford secondary for multiple reasons: not really my scene with the mandatory research, competitive atmosphere, and I would probably not get admitted anyhow so I am saving the time and money. Sort of a bummer b/c my father went there, but I hope to do a wilderness medicine fellowship there after medical school. I feel I would be a lot more comfortable at UNECOM, CU, OSHU, Dartmouth, or UVM so I am crossing my fingers.
11/16/06-accepted to UNECOM! I will withdraw from western and cancel interviews at TU-MI, TU-NV, and AZCOM. I should withdraw from U of Rodchester, Tufts, Albany as I would go to UNECOM over them but I am now interested (after all the work) to see if I get an interview. Nice to know, at this point, that I will be going to a school a really like no matter what happens from here on out...
12/9/06-rejected pre-secondary from UCSF-not really a suprise. I did get some love from the UC system on the same day though and got a screened secondary request from Davis-I think I will fill it out...
    12/11/06-rejection from UCSD
12/12/06-they are rolling in now! rejection pre-interview from Rochester...whatever. please please let UVM and CU give me interviews
12/18/06-rejected by U of Washington. Predicted but still sad.
1/7/07-did not complete UC Davis secondary...late in the game for them, costs, OOS, did not want to be in Sacramento, etc etc
    1/19/07-aaaahhhhhh
    1/21/07-rejected by Dartmouth today.bummed...
1/31/07-returned from a 5 day ski hut trip in colorado backcountry to a rejection from UVM- the powder sucks there anyways. Would of been a nice school...
2/7/07-returned from a brief yet awesome road trip to Taos, NM and found a pre interview rejection from CU. This one stung as I pretty much moved here again to gain residency in hopes of attending CU. I think if I would of got an interview that I would of been accepted. Sad...well looks more and more like UNE which will be great as well.
2/12/07-called Tufts, OHSU, and Albany to try and wrap this process up and find out something from the schools that have been so silent. Albany put me on pre-interview hold, Tufts has not responded, and OHSU just said that I was complete. I should of withdrawn from Tufts and Albany today as I would not go there over UNE but whatever...I do hope I can still get an OHSU interview. I can't believe I have not gotten MD interviews-besides by 29 MCAT I thought my app was looking good...truly a random process
    3/2/07-withdraw from Albany and Tufts.
3/8/07-the process is over, got a rejection from OHSU with no interview. Nice thing is that the process is over and it was successful. UNE will fit me beautifully. Good luck to others.
3/29/08-update one year later: I have been doing really well in school and I enjoy the professors, community, students, and classes alot. I am getting an excellent education and really enjoying my D.O. education. I would recommend this school to anyone based on my experiences thus far.
