i applied through AMCAS to a lot of (maybe too many) schools and almost every school sent out a secondary. for people with low stats, I think it's imperative you apply as early as possible. i got buckets full of secondary apps starting late July and they just kept coming. i focused on the schools i was really interested in and thought i'd have a chance at and let the rest just pile up since i didnt have the money or the fortitude to tackle that many secondaries.
