'under review' on 8/31/06.. what's taking them so long???
9/5/06 - finally verified! it's about time! but since i still have to wait for the mcat scores to come out, i guess i still have more waiting to do.. sigh. just got case western, msu, vcu in my inbox. should i even consider filling these out?
9/7/06 - got a whole slew of secondaries. Still contemplating whether I should fill them out. I could be wasting a lot of money if I find out my mcat scores aren't that great, but I could also be doing myself a big favor.
9/22/06 - sent in a whole slew (or seemed like) of secondaries out. whew. it wasn't so bad. now just 12 left!! kill me now.
10/10/06 - sent in rush and case. 3 more days left til scores come out. friday will either be my heaven or hell. hopefully the former. at this point, all i can do is wait. wait wait wait. seems like the only thing i'm doing these days :(
10/11/06 - getting desparate, so decided to send in app for Ross.
10/13/06 - woohoo, scores are in! i wasn't all that happy about verbal, but good thing it wasn't any lower.
10/15/06 - sent in app for SGU.
10/24/06 - sent in Wayne State yesterday. finally! i didnt think i'd hear from them! i honestly don't know if i have a chance this year at a medschool spot. my best chance is at BU since i've done fairly well in their program but I WILL NEVER KNOW UNTIL I GET AN ACCEPTANCE!!! dah! I also called Drexel for the 3rd time last Thurday....haven't received a 2ndary from them and they send them to EVERYONE! talk about unorganized. they told me to email someone, who told me i will be 'receiving an email from then in a few days'...that was last Tuesday!!! at this point in the game, i think it's a little too late to be filling one out, even tho i think drexel might take a look at me. even though i've done my share of improving my app, i can't help but feel so hopeless when i see my gpa. :(
10/30/06 - got an email for interview with Ross. in Irvine.
10/31/06 - i have a feeling a slew of rejections from all the UC's.
11/7/06 - a bittersweet (sort of) day. received a rejection from West Virginia University, but an interview invite from Wayne!! woohoo!!! my first invite!!!! (well, a U.S. school anyways). I'm glad it's after Ross' interview (Ross=good practice....even though it might not necessarily be a back-up since my stats suck). nevertheless, I was very happy. :)
11/17/06 - no love from GW; First rejection.
11/18/06 - i dont think i'd be speaking too early to say this...but i have a feeling i'll be getting a LOAD of rejections soon (well, i DID apply to quite a bit of schools). my worst fear is to not get any interviews. i'll stop caring about interviews if i can just get into ONE school. i just need one. waah..
11/23/06 - mayo phone interview. shocked to see the email today, though it was not expected (receiving even a phone interview). Also, previously i got an email (11/20/06 to be exact) about how they did not receive my $ (i sent this on 9/5/06!!!). wow, what a privelige~! i am stoked :)
11/24/06 - rejected from EVMS and RFU. double rejections - a quicker suffering? sadly, these were schools I was actually a bit hopeful for. boo.
11/30/06 - UPitt status page says 'correspondance mailed' which can only mean one thing...REJECTION! a last minute application add gone sour.
12/4/06 - just interviewed at Ross (Irvine location). the interviewer was nice but overall, i felt so awkward, so at a lose for words. in another words, it sucked! i came out not feeling all that great. i was scrambling for words a lot of the time. what the hell is wrong with me???? do i lack people skills? i dont think so. a mix of being very nervous with her lack of words made it hard for me to talk. i can't get a rejection from a carribean school!!! :(
12/5/06 - interviewed at SGU. alright, better than Ross. I stumbled on the ethics question (abortion) despite preparing. i feel more at ease with the questions i memorized with answers to (not always a good idea but i fumbled too much yesterday). oh well, just have to wait and see. sigh..
12/8/06 - EYSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! i got a BU invite this wonderful beautiful morning!!! a good sign!!!!!!! WAHOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
12/19/06 - interviewed at wayne last friday. overall, a very laid back interview yet i didnt get the feeling that the interviewer would do a good job of advocating for me when it comes to presenting me to the rest of the admissions committee. i'm either going to find out the news (good or bad) tomorrow or january 31st. i'd say the sooner i get the bad news, the better. ugh. the more and more i think back to the interview, i get a worse and worse feeling about my chances at this school. really loved the hospital. looked like the students there get a LOT of hands on experience during their 3rd and 4th years, which is helpful for residency.

1/1/07 - phone interview with mayo tomorrow. excited but not too eager for their weirdo questions. hope it goes well!
1/9/07 - email rejection from Mayo. oh well, i thought the phone interview invite was a fluke anyways.
1/18/07 - shoot, i have BU in a week. dah.
1/27/07 - interviewed at BU yesterday. it was overall a very pleasant experience for me. dean of admissions seems like a cool guy (though very very....for lack of a better word, wired?). my interviewer was a nice, laid back lady who didnt ask typical interview questions but was very conversational. she said that i had a good chance at an acceptance but i'm not banking on what she says per se. oh, i hope i hope i get in. it will be a veeeeeery long wait until late march. ack!
2/8/07 - schools are being too silent! i still have ~30 schools to wait on pre-interview. at this point, i'm not banking on any more invites, as it's getting kind of late in the cycle. or is it? around 2 more months of waiting for BU. interview was 2 weeks ago but feels like a loooooong time ago. will 'end of march' ever roll around? hurry!
2/9/07 - finally something. from albany. but no, not an interview. i'm apparently on 'hold', whatever that means. at least it's some sort of notification. *shrugg*
2/20/07 - got the email update. went to the website--> dun dun DUN! 'file closed'. i had an inkling of hope but ah, all's well. never wanted to go there anyways!! haha. ------just checked uvm's website-->rejection. 4 more snail mail rejections from NYU, UCLA (Boo on you my alma mater), Tulane, AE. WOW. they're coming!!!
2/26/07 - just got an invite to 'complete your supplementary essays' from MSU, which will be followed by an exact interview date. should i fill it out/go to the interview?
3/2/07 - too lazy to fill out MSU's supplementary (automatically get an interview date afterwards). even if i was lucky enough to get accepted, i dont think i'd go there (prefer wayne). not interested in rural medicine. not interested in a school who's moving locations (transitions always suck). not interested in being shipped throughout the state for clinicals. not interested in not-so-cheap-tuition (comparable to wayne's). so there. not interested. boo yah!

3/23/07 - still waiting on BU. sounds like they're really going to release the decisions next week (last week of March). why do they have to be so dang technical? their email in January says 'late March'. doesn't late March equate the second to last week fo March??!?!? huh??? why can't they spare us some a PAIN!?!?!?!!! i hate you BU, for making me wait =(.
3/29/07 - BU says all stuff will be released by tomorrow. WHAT THE HECK???? at this point, i don't care if it's a rejection. just give me my damn decision!!!!! :(
4/1/07 - Found on 3/30/07 that I was being waitlisted. my interviewer says I'm at/near the top of the list and to hang on. don't know how hopeful i should be since last year's WL did not move AT ALL. bummed out. i guess this means more waiting!!!!! witzburg says the WL gets activated in June (what does that mean!?!??!!?!), which doesn't sound all that reassuring. i dont want to wait that late :(.

4/30/07 - Loyola rejection. Also found out BU interviewed 86 GMSers, accepted 34, waitlisted 32 (me included!), and rejected 20. Let's hope for the best!
5/7/07 - Meharry rejection.
5/17/07 - when will the wait end?!?!? emailed witzburg....decisions won't be out pretty much well into June so I have a month more of this torturous wait!!!! let me just crawl into a hole now..
5/22/07 - damn. 9 more days until the end of the month. sounds like bu won't even START making decisions for who gets off the WL until 'well into june', whatever THAT means.
5/31/07 - Albany rejection, after being on 'hold'.
6/5/07 - UCI Rejection. WHATEVER YOU!!!! never wanted you anyways.

6/8/07 - just express mailed a letter of interest to BU. not sure if it's going to do much damage. but vaughan suggested i do that. i just hope it doesn't come off too icky (brown nosy). i also hope my grammar wasn't toooooo horrible. wish me luck!!!!
