6-23-06: so far this process has been really trying. I have been trying to stay on top of things so that I can get it in as EARLY as possible. My transcript was lost to AACOMAS so that delayed my application. They told me that they still have not sent out the first batch of apps. yet so I should be okay.
I realized before even starting this process, that it was going to be extremely important to do everything I could to maximize my chances of getting in because of my poor MCAT score and GPA. Although my GPA reported up there is overall...the trend was very strong as I matured through school IE: my freshman year was like 2.59, and I ended up with my senior year GPA of 3.9, and it never was below 3.2 after freshman year. Also the fact that im older obliged me to do everything possible to increase my chances. So applying early and broadly to lots of schools. Im actually really leaning more towards the DO route, but we will see if this crapshoot of medical schools application process falls my way or not.
06-26-06: AACOMAS sent out my application today to all my designated schools. I also received my first secondary from the Medical College of Wisconsin. Not sure how I got that because according to AMCAS they still have not sent out the applications to MD programs. Im guessing MCW doesnt pre-screen and are just sending out 2ndaries to anyone who applied?
06-27-06: Still waiting on some LOR's to arrive @ Interfolio.
