Summary of Application Experience
7/19 - MCAT Scores in, YAY! better then expected!! 8/9 - so many secondary essays... 8/11 - first interview invite from u of pittsburgh! yay! 8/13 - why is my pre-med advisor ignoring me? I need that committee letter, grrr arrggh! 8/31 - Finally my pre-med committee letter has been sent out!!! Now it's time to just wait and see... 9/11 - My committee letter still isn't registering as received at most schools. Rejected from VCU because it wasn't received w/in the 45 day limit even though I wrote them an e-mail explaining the situation! I was in Europe all summer and my advisor is unreachable by e-mail/phone! First rejection = sad, but not heartbroken 9/23 - VCU app reinstated after e-mail to Dean explaining the situation, yay! I'm complete at most schools. Waiting for interview invites/rejections is getting tedious... 9/29 - NYU invite and GW hold the same day. ehh didnt want to live in DC anyway, NYC here I come! 10/9 - So I went on my first interview at NYU last week and the school was AMAZING! I think the interview went well, but I guess I just have to wait and see. Two more invites today (EVMS and AECOM). I'm starting to get worried about all the class I'll be missing for interviews...hmm... 10/17 - Just got back from a 3 interview marathon. I'm exhauseted and have sooo much work to catch up on. I hope I get an acceptance somewhat soon so I can start turning down some interviews... 11/6 - no word back from any of the schools I've interviewed at yet. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing..hmm...I found out today I got an onsite interview at Mayo! yay! 11/8 - 1st acceptance from EVMS! I'm going to be a doctor, YAY!!!!! 11/16 - waitlisted at Pitt, boo 11/20 - assumed acceptance at NJMS, yayyyy! 12/18 - OMG NYU!!!!! I looooooved this school! So excited!!! Unless I get into Mayo or Harvard, I think I'm going here!! 12/19 - NYU and Emory in one week?! Thank you Santa Claus! 2/6 - Trying to get financial aid stuff in order and sent in. I like so many of these schools I think where I ultimately go will depend on what 'packages' I receive and my impression after second look weekends (which I'll be missing more class for, it's a good thing my teachers love me). I'm not complaining though, thank you awesome schools for accepting me! 4/23 - So I went to NYU's second look, loved it, and was all set to go there when out of the blue UVA offers me a $16,500/yr scholarship. Now I am completely torn between these two opposite schoools. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!! 5/8 - After much stressing and deliberation, I decided to revisit UVA and I loved it! It's official, UVA here I come!!
