5/15/06 Surprise, surprise, I was training to be a clinical exercise physiologist, but discovered that I'd rather be on the exercise side of medicine than the medicine side of exercise! So far, I have been most interested in metabolic myopathies and inborn errors of metabolism.
Also, I don't know if that is my exact GPA above since we'll see how AMCAS and AACOMAS calculate it... could be lower, could be higher!

7/12/06 Been a very rough month for my family, but just pressed SEND on AMCAS today! Starting the AACOMAS essay. The schools above are the ones I'm applying to.
7/13/06 Got my first secondary! Before AMCAS was even verified... I didn't realize that would happen. I also have the final step in my job interview today. Big day!
7/20/06 Got my second secondary! (GW) Still waiting to be verified; now heading to NY to see my family. I hope to get into school there.
7/31/06 Still not verified on AMCAS... Submitted AACOMAS today!
8/4/06 Under Review at AMCAS. Any minute/hour/day/week now!!
8/5/06 As of 2:03 pm I am processed. Got Mayo's secondary at 2.32 am!

8/9/06 What are schools really looking for when they ask you 'Why ____ school?' If I don't have a personal connection to said school, I've been telling them what appeals to me in their particular program. It seems so trite, somehow.
8/18/06 WOW!!!! Davis screened my application and sent me a secondary!!! That's so exciting!
8/24/06 AACOMAS still has not verified me. I wonder how long that will take?
8/28/06 I told myself I'd have all my available secondaries done by the end of August. It's getting to crunch time!!

8/31/06 SECOND INTERVIEW!!!???? Already??? I got an interview (by telephone) for MAYO!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!!
9/1/06 First 'rejection.' aka pre-interview 'hold' status from George Washington University. I'll just take it as a rejection and in case they invite me for an interview, i'll revive it from the dead.
9/6/06 Got back from my first interview at Buffalo - not bad, not bad.
9/20/06 Am complete at a few more schools... nothing exciting happening these days... no more interviews... but no more rejections!
10/5/06 It's been really really quiet. I was rejected from BU on 9/28, but that's about it. I had my Mayo phone interview this morning, and my father listened to my end of the conversation. I thought it went pretty well, but you never know. Please keep your fingers crossed!
10/7/06 NYCOM came around and invited me! I think I need to send out the rest of my DO invites. I'm very interested in Osteopathy so I would like to see these schools up close.
10/17/06 UCSF rejection. Buffalo is still without power after a huge storm last week so I suppose they haven't released any new information yet! I hope to hear good news from UB soon... *cross your fingers!!!* :)

At long last.... I have been accepted to Buffalo. I don't have to move! I get to stay here. I am going to withdraw from Downstate, Western and NYCOM and settle back into my Buffalo life. Fantastic. Good luck to everyone out there who may read this! If you have any questions, feel free to write.
My advice: apply earlier to DO schools than I did. Rumor has it that if I had applied to PCOM earlier (like 5 months earlier) I would have gotten an interview.
