Summary of Experience:
9/26: Withdrew from II. I had 7 interview invites already, and didnt feel like spending the money to travel to Houston. Also, the interview date they offered was the day after my UVA interview I already had scheduled.
Summary of Experience:
10/30: Loved my 24 hours in Blue experience! The pizza dinner before my interview was relaxing and I enjoyed getting to know the students. The interview day itself was not very stressful, the MMIs were pretty straightforward and the one-on-ones were good as well. My favorite part was on the tour where we made a cast with an orthopedic surgeon, rather than just the usual tours of lecture halls that other schools gave.
Summary of Experience:
9/28: Enjoyed visiting Cornell, the medical school in the heart of the upper east side near New York Presbyterian was cool. The classroom spaces were all updated, and all the students were given new iPads for their lectures and personal use. Also, the students were more relaxed and collaborative than I expected. I even got to see the anatomy lab there, which was exciting. One downside would be having to live in a dorm my first year, but I suppose that its a lot cheaper than NY rent.
Summary of Experience:
10/12: Loved my interview day with CCLCM. The extra year of research is really appealing and the full tuition scholarship is of course attractive.
Accepted off of the alternate list and will be attending next year!
Summary of Experience:
CASPer was difficult and didnt really go well, might hurt chances of interview/admission. (Update: nvm).
9/27: Attended interview, really liked the school for its updated curriculum, collaborative learning environment, and renovated classrooms. The director of admissions was really nice and she was my last interviewer. Some of the benefits here included being close to Chicago, the updated spaces, and problem-based learning.
10/27: Excited to have been accepted to my second medical school. But I look forward to hearing about financial info in March, since that will really determine where I end up.
Summary of Experience:
10/20: First acceptance! Notified 1 day after my interview (which was impressive). UVA is a beautiful school, and the medical education building was relatively new. The students all seemed friendly and I would be happy to attend this school. Ill have to wait for some of the financial details though.
Summary of Experience:
10/30: Liked UC, but didnt feel much of a connection to the school. Maybe I was just tired or annoyed or something, but I dont think the MMI went great and didnt like the tour because it was so short.
11/13: Got accepted to UC today, which is good since its an in-state school and will be cheaper than others. Ill have to wait till the spring to see how the finances turn out.
Summary of Experience:
11/06: Enjoyed my OSU experience. The students seemed friendly and collaborative. The interviews (2) werent stressful at all since I had done other ones prior to this. OSU mentioned being really good about scholarships, so that might be a factor in my decision.
Summary of Experience:
10/04: Loved my interview at Case more than I thought I would. They stressed that theyre building a new medical education building in association with the Cleveland Clinic, that is huge and should be really nice for all their health sciences students. They really emphasized their IQ sessions for problem based learning, and all the students seemed relaxed and friendly. Many students were also involved with research which I thought was important with some of my background.
11/09: Thrilled to have been accepted to Case Western, and they invited me to apply for a merit scholarship. After seeing other medical schools, I like the problem/case based approach to learning rather than a bunch of lectures to memorize. This puts CWRU high on my list.
