Really disappointed in my MCAT performance (was scoring 508+) but decided to apply anyways with an adjusted school list. Submitted June 2--complete early most places.
Got four early interviews and scheduled them spaced out once a month since I work full time and have a family. In hindsight Im glad I didnt have much more interviews.
One of those turned into my first acceptance at the beginning of December, so Im thrilled to be accepted to one of my top choices in the state we wanted to move to!

I had an apt with one of the admin team members 1 year prior to my own app cycle and she gave me a lot of hope. For that, I am grateful. But, in the end, UM is just another med school and I didnt get noticed there...

The portal, the interview day, everything is very mechanical and data driven. I feel like a number, not an actual person. Nonetheless, VCU would be an excellent place to train and Richmond is an affordable city with some good school districts for my kids and plenty of work opportunities for my spouse. Hoping to hear back Dec 16, since I was passed up for a decision on Oct 16.

Going in, I was skeptical of the MSU CHM but after the interview day, all my other crush schools kind of melted away and I realized this was a perfect fit for my family and I.
Evidently, they thought so too, so its a great match and Im almost certain we will go there (barring any highly unlikely full scholarship from somewhere else)...
