Pretty sad about this rejection :( Was hoping for some love from the town I've called home for most of my life, and wasn't expecting a rejection so quick. Wasn't marked complete until 7/26. But it's all good :) It only takes one acceptance and it wasn't meant to be!

8/9/17: FIRST II!!!!! :) I was just getting home from a long day at work, made some nachos, checked my email, and casually spilled my nachos due to my excitement! SO ELATED :)
09/XX/17 (adjusted above): Definitely enjoyed my interview day here! Not sure if they purposefully did this, but i interviewed on a day with all women applicants, which was pretty cool! I was one of the few OOSers, which was kind of intimidating. Student guides were super chill, laid-back, and honest about their experiences, which was greatly appreciated. Loved the examination format (systems-based with quizzes at the end of each week (not graded) and a week-long exam period at the end of each block). My interview went pretty well, in my opinion! Super chill and didnt even realize that it lasted an hour.
A few downsides - didnt hear a lot about community involvement on my tour. I was present on a day where there was a DACA protest, but what are the students actually doing to be proactive in the Brooklyn community? Also, the general facilities (resident halls included) are all pretty old. We didnt get to tour the hospital for liability/insurance reasons, so Im not sure of those conditions.

II on 8/17/17!!!!! So elated to have the opportunity to potentially study in my hometown :)
Really enjoyed my interview day (adjusted date for anonymity)! Started off meeting + speaking with an SP, which was cool! Loved the hospitals and the fact that all of the facilities are located within a block of each other. Also loved the sense of camaraderie amongst the students and professors - it definitely shone through student explanations of ECs/study groups and observations of groups around the campus. I interviewed with some really cool, down-to-earth people, which I loved! Interview was pretty chill --- panel-styled format (2 MDs and a medical student).
A downside that I found, however, is the grading system. First two years are HH/H/P/F and clinical years are P/F. Seems a bit backwards with the heavy emphasis that they placed on clinicals/bed-side manner/SP interactions throughout the interview day.

II: 8/31/17!!! So happy to receive this right before my vacation :)
Really liked my day in Hershey! The facilities are super nice, students seem super happy, and I thought it was a draw that students take Step I after 3rd year. It has to be advantageous to have a year of rotations under your belt before testing. My interviews werent super structured, so Im not sure if they actually went well ... One of the downsides is that I was hoping to be in an area with more going on . They have a program at their main campus in State College, so I could potentially do that program if Im accepted. Well definitely see ... my favorite visit thus far.
