Summary of Application Experience
The whole application process was crazy long. I got started a bit late and didn't submit my AMCAS until mid-August. Within two weeks I had a pile of 12 secondaries that needed completion. I did most of my secondaries in a staggered fashion, submitting the most important applications (to me) first, and then finishing the rest as I had time. Of course, this meant that I was still doing some applications, even as I had some interviews--a rather annoying dilemma that's overcome through a little extra work and scheduling. All and all, I really enjoyed the later part of the application process (interviewing), as you really get a feel for the diversity of schools and environments in which you can study. I definitely recommend going to nearly all the interviews you get. Some of the interviews I almost decided not to go to turned out to be very positive experiences. And, for now, just a little more waiting and then the big decision-making process...
