    Summary of Application Experience

7/3: I dropped 3 schools pre-sec because I think they're a bad fit for me. I'm filling out secondaries as quickly as I can. Interfolio is working out really well.

7/6: I dropped a few more schools because I am going broke. I can't afford all the secondaries. I'm down to 16 schools now.

7/7: And then there were 15. Byebye Cornell. I really like the remaining schools and am very excited. I hope I get some interviews...

7/11 Everyone on SDN is talking about how med schools come and read this site. My life's an open book so I don't mind if they do. Greetings AdCom Member!

7/31 Just added Albany Medical to my AMCAS based on some good things I heard on SDN. I had been limiting myself to a 6 hour driving radius but I think I can expand it to seven. The only secondaries I'm waiting on are Drexel and Albany. Pitt is giving out a lot of interviews already, but I'm hanging tough. Like New Kids on the Block.

8/17 Got my first rejections. Added 4 schools in panic response :)Praying daily to St. Rita, patron saint of lost causes. All prayers appreciated.

8/31 I'm gonna put UPenn as a rejection. I have been put 'on hold' and I don't forsee coming off of hold. So, cut my losses and move on. 3 down. 16 to go.... Keep praying to Rita and Jude please!!!

9/28 I've added three osteopathic schools.

10/20 Got rejected by U. Maryland today and also got my AACOMAS GPA: 3.587 for both science and overall (weird coincidence, yes?) I've already filled out my secondaries and sent my LORs. Hopefully I'll hear back within the next few weeks. Got my fingers crossed--please pray! Oh, also, Pitt sent out some rejections and I didn't get one so I am still in the running! I'm sending updates to all my allo schools this week.

11/6 Rejected by Pitt. Que sera. I've submitted Erie's secondary but dragging my feet on the others-grrr. My kids have had the flu for two weeks now and it's slowed me down a bit. Trying to keep my chin up. Praying for an Erie acceptance. All prayers greatly appreciated.

11/21 My first interview invite: LECOM. Woohoo!!!!!

12/01 Had my LECOM interview today. Now the wait begins! Got my fingers crossed. All positive vibes and prayers appreciated. I'm hoping for the Independent Study pathway and am also applying to the Primary Care Scholars program. It's my first choice school.

12/14 PCOM invite! Very exciting. It's a great school.

12/22 I got into LECOM independent study track. That's where I'll be going. What a relief! Applying to med school is hell but it's worth it :) I'm really excited to go to LECOM. woohoo! I'm gonna be a doctor! Woohooooooo!!!!

2/21 Email invite to interview at U of Vermont. I soooo wish I could go, but I just can't. I can't bring myself to email them and tell them either. This one hurts. Realy glad they invited me though...

3/4 Changed my mind. I'm going to Vermont this Thursday! Wish me luck!
