Brief Profile:
Hello! I hope this ends up being helpful to someone someday-- good luck with your application cycle! Feel free to PM me on here or SDN. ------------------------------------- I'm a non-traditional applicant, a few years out of undergrad. I applied super broadly because my pre-health adviser was cautiously optimistic about my chances (understandably). I included schools that were relatively reasonable and ones that were well beyond my reach, only because I work and had specifically saved funds for a year for this interview season. No regrets! :)
Experiences: -LizzyM is about 65. (Decent MCAT, lower cGPA/sGPA w/ upward trend) -Significant research; multiple years/summers in undergrad, honors thesis, publication and multiple posters/presentations. -Decent amount of both clinical/non clinical volunteering sustained over 2-ish years. -Worked full time in clinical research post-undergrad (+1 college summer) at a hospital. Thousands of hours. -A few honors (departmental, dean's list, research society), but nothing that significant. -Multiple leadership positions on campus; cultural awareness/appreciation and health-related positions. -Lots of paid employment, work study from undergrad and one summer when I wasn't doing research yet. -Minimal dedicated shadowing, including primary care.
