    Summary of Application Experience

I will keep updating this profile as I go through every step. So far practice exams predict good things (now that I've said this I will probably score a 15). We will see what happens on the real day.

03/22/2006 Had my premedical committee interview. I think it went well. I tried to prepare myself as much as I could and it definetely helped calm my nerves.

04/22/2006 Took the MCAT. One word: Sucker, but it wasn't bad as I thought.

06/19/2006 MCAT scores came out. Pleased, although the overachiever in me was hoping for a 35+.

I have completed all secondaries except for 6 (out of state schools). NYMC and Rosalind Frankling have a $100 and $95 dollar fees. Duke's secondary is very long and there is a fee associated as well. Since I've had to pay for interview expenses, I'm afraid of running out of funds. This is an expensive process.

10/14/2006 I found out about my TCOM acceptance, they were nice enough to post them on the status page a day before the actual 10/15 acceptance release date for the new Texas system. I was very relieved and happy, I loved this school when I visited.

10/16/2006 Got the e-mail from Southwestern at 9:46am. After that I couldn't study or do homework because I was so excited that I started calling all my relatives and friends.

10/17/2006 Got my Texas Tech acceptance by e-mail. Yay! Three acceptances!!

I'm glad I didn't send those $100 dollar secondaries for 6 of my out of state applications (I was originally going to apply to 18 schools, and ended up doing only 12: all 8 in Texas and 4 out of state). I was afraid I was going to regret it if I didn't get in, but thankfully I don't have to regret it.

I cannot believe my luck. I can only be thankful and keep working as hard as I have for the last 4 years. Now the waiting's over and the real deal begins.

FINAL EDIT: I will be attending UT-Southwestern next fall. I attended MS0 a few weeks ago and had a blast! Everyone seems very nice, approachable and normal (normal in the future-med-student sense, of course).
