I'm creating this profile in an effort to spotlight the hopeful URM applicants who are looking to disrupt a system of medical education that has methodically barred us from participating in full for so long. In solidarity, we deserve to be here, we are highly qualified, and we will become excellent physicians.

URM from underserved urban community, grew up in poverty (affordable housing, free lunch, FAP recipient, etc.) Queer, multi-racial, first-generation, POC, multi-lingual, full-ride scholarship recipient.
Low GPA due to mental health and family death. Excellent upward GPA trend. MCAT: 506-510
Research Experience: >3 years (mostly wet lab, no publications - several poster presentations) Teaching Experience: >3 years Clinical Experience: >1000 hours Volunteer Experience: >1000 hours; homeless shelter, local community organizer and social activist
Double major, very strong LORs, and many interests outside of medicine.

So unbelievably excited about this interview. This is my hometown and the curriculum is centered around medicine for underserved communities. Definitely looking forward to visiting the school and hanging out with my fam afterwards!
