Summary of Application Experience
So far so good, you can tell where they really want you and where they are just offering you admission. Definitely be yourself during the interviews, and get your stuff turned in early. Bear state residency in mind with schools, even if they are private. Duke even cites those reasons for rejections, and Mayo clearly goes on those lines.
Update 2/22/06: I suppose this is a good problem to have, but I don't know where to go. I really like MUO, and I think financially it will be far more beneficial to go there. I don't take much stock in rankings or name recognition for my career goals (mostly clinical medicine), but I don't know. Still waiting on Duke, and I think Case can be added to those 2 as my top 3 at the moment. That could change easily, though, all of the schools are really impressive. It might ultimately come down to finances alone.
Update 3/3/06: Finally finished with the application process. Now I must wait for financial aid information and start wittling down the schools. I feel very blessed. I have many decisions to make, though, and the process was so draining that I am in no position to make them. I'm glad spring break is coming up. Best of luck to everyone else!
Update 3/21/06: Well, I'll know more about Case on 3/28 in terms of finances. I will probably make some cuts just after Easter. I plan on revisiting MUO at that point and I should know some definite answers from UC and OSU regarding finances. Glad my thesis work is keeping me busy.
Final Update: Well, I will be at the Medical University of Ohio next year (when it will be known as the University of Toledo College of Medicine). Stressful decision, but I feel it is the correct one given my situation. Good luck to all!
