- 2.5 years of continuous basic science research, including three summers. No pubs yet, and stupidly never looked into posters, but will be submitting a first author manuscript sometime this fall. PI LOR should be very good. Couple of scholarships for research funding. - 100+ clinical volunteering hours, about 250 nonclinical hours focusing on children's education. - Several executive leadership positions in school organizations, with long term, dedicated involvement. In particular, I was very successful in a competitive extracurricular activity that hopefully makes my app a bit more unique.
Last letter didn't come in until the very end of July, but all of my secondaries were already in by then, so schools started to mark me complete in early August. Makes waiting for interviews even more nerve-wracking than it already is...
Summary of Experience:
Applied to OSU just to add another school to my list, but now that I've been fortunate enough to get several interviews, I would pick any of them over OSU if I were accepted. Didn't want to waste time that could be spent reviewing another app, so I decided just to withdraw. Hopefully this doesn't end up hurting me later!
