Summary of Application Experience
Wow what a crazy journey.
Finally decided to matriculate at the Mount Sinai MSTP. The research and medical education is absolutely incredible, and you can't beat the location (UES in Manhattan). The hospital and research facilities are beautiful, and immediately adjacent to Central Park. Most importantly, the students seem extraordinarily happy with the quality of life here.

Summary of Experience:
6/20 - decided not to submit secondary
Summary of Experience:
7/26 - complete! As with all NY schools, I really want to go here, but this one is a bit of a pipe dream. 2/14 - a rejection finally...
Summary of Experience:
7/15 - turnaround time was very quick. As with all NY schools, really want to go here 8/25 - really disappointed about the rejection. This might have been my favorite location for a school
Summary of Experience:
10/25 - I didn't submit the extra essays they asked for, after receiving interviews from a couple of other places I would rather go. Don't know why it took them so long to reject...
Summary of Experience:
7/20 - very excited about the research for this one. 11/16 - rejected. I was expecting it, but it's still disappointing. Didn't really like the location, but the research was obviously top-notch.
Summary of Experience:
8/11 - Letters of recommendation still haven't been updated on the status check website. Submitted secondary about 3 weeks ago. 8/16 - LOR finally showing on status website. Still not forwarded to adcom... 8/19 - forwarded to adcom! 9/12 - :( rejected, sent to MD-only
Summary of Experience:
9/16 - very impressed with the MD/PhD program. well-organized, with amazing students and faculty. relaxed atmosphere as well. 11/29 - talked to the program director. i didn't make the cutoff for the MMI so there is no chance i can get in. Also, during one of my PhD interviews, I apparently gave the impression that I wasn't too interested in the program. 12/29 - looks like I'm waitlisted somehow
Summary of Experience:
8/10 - took forever to confirm completion. finally confirmed by email. 9/27 - wow i received a II! very excited, they're flying me out and everything 1/24 - awesome school, columbus is a cool city, solid program, great administration 3/1 - waitlisted
Summary of Experience:
7/19 - file complete! very excited for this one too 8/2 - early II! i can't believe it :))) 9/8 - truly impressed with everything about this school. i would be honored and excited to go here. 10/18 - rejected from MSTP. didn't realize how disappointed I would be about this one... 1/31 - Waitlisted at MD only program. I'm seriously considering attending here and trying to transfer into the MD/PhD program
Summary of Experience:
11/17 - My first (and probably only) California invite! It's incredible to have a chance to work at Caltech 2/5 - Basically ended up being what I expected. Caltech is amazing, and would be an awesome place to do research, but the program is poorly organized. 4/10 - offered a position on the waitlist.
Summary of Experience:
10/5 - II! Wow another NYC school. This is awesome :) 11/18 - Truly impressed with this program. Talked to a bunch of professors doing some very interesting translational research 2/7 - accepted...I can't believe it! I have the option of going to a NYC school! So excited about this one :))) 4/27 - declined all other offers of acceptance 5/24 - declined offer to matriculate at Mount Sinai!
Summary of Experience:
7/19 - as with all NY schools, really want to go here :-) 10/4 = II! Man it would be so awesome to go to school here! 10/31 - This is an absolutely incredible school. Everything from the location, to the research, to the facilities is absolutely top notch. Definitely my current first choice 1/8 - waitlisted! but at least I am still under consideration. I would be absolutely thrilled to attend MSSM 5/22 - I didn't believe this would happen! I can't believe I've been accepted! Wow it's going to be tough to give up Einstein though 5/24 - Finally decided to decline the offer from Einstein to matriculate here!
Summary of Experience:
7/25 - took an extremely long time to receive letters of rec. As with all NY schools, really want to go here :) 8/11 - another early II! super happy, the research here is incredible. 9/28 - long interview day, and a bit formal, but overall very enjoyable. one of the interviewers was not there, but program organization seems pretty solid. 11/10 - accepted to my first MSTP! Really feel good about this one 4/20 - revisit days were pretty nice! CSHL is an especially nice place for research, but doesn't seem like a good place for graduate training. 4/27 - decided to decline admission, only because I definitely like Colorado and Einstein more
Summary of Experience:
8/11 - confirmed complete by phone 8/18 - II received! 9/15 - not my first choice, but surprised by the depth of research choices. Might be able to continue with Cole lab 11/7 - first acceptance! wow its such an amazing feeling of relief :))) 3/24 - finally declined admission, should have done it a while back. This program is not quite on par with the other programs I've been accepted to
Summary of Experience:
8/11 - secondary submitted very early, but took forever to register LOR 9/6 - received a II! very surprising 12/1 - very glad i was invited to interview! i was truly impressed with the organization of the program, and the quality of the faculty. For a state university, there are some very distinguished researchers here. It is also a very up and coming university. I have to give it some serious consideration 3/10 - waitlisted...seems like a lot of schools are waitlisting 3/18 - accepted off the waitlist! looks like I was next in line 3/24 - decided to decline admission. I liked this program a lot but it didn't quite match my research interests
Summary of Experience:
8/11 - submitted application and payment 10 days ago, but application still hasn't been processed 8/12 - finally processed! 9/29 - II! My farthest interview to date. 1/5 - first interview in 2017! Really loved the school, students, and Colorado. Kind of messed up the MD interviews, so I feel like I'd be lucky to get accepted, but would be really happy to go here 2/8 - waitlisted. Might have been more disappointed if I hadn't just received the AECOM acceptance :) 3/18 - wow, I am blown away by how fantastic this program is. I love everything about the program, the city, and the people. Really hope I get accepted. 3/21 - accepted. :DDD couldn't be happier! This is going to be a very tough decision 4/27 - declined offer :( this was the toughest decision I've ever had to make. Einstein was just a slightly better fit though
