Summary of Application Experience
6/15 I'm going to Davis! I gave it a lot of thought and even if USC lets me in off their waitlist, I'd rather be at Davis. The program is great, it's cheaper and the location works a lot better for my husband careerwise. Plus, there are way more nontrads at Davis, which is important to me.
5/3 UCSF rejected me. Not as crushed as I thought I'd be. I wasn't surprised and I'm pretty excited about Davis so while it's dissapointing, I think I'll be very happy at Davis.
5/2 Finally! I am not a reapplicant! I had just started working on next year's AMCAS. About an hour later I got a phone call from UC Davis. WOOHOO!
4/21 UCSF put me on the high priority waitlist. Again, read karma comments. No word from Davis 7 weeks post-interview. And U Maryland rejected me today. Must go eat massive quantities of brownies now.
4/19 Hmmm, no word from UCSF. See karma comment below re:puppies.
4/15 Supposedly UCSF's last meeting is today. I have no acceptances yet so a lot is riding on this. Of course, tomorrow is the 15th, tax day, so I doubt the mail will come on time. Fate is laughing at me. Oh, and Johns Hopkins finally rejected me, 10 months after I applied!
3/6 UCLA rejection. Screw the Bruins. Go Trojans! No matter where I get in, from now on I am a Trojans fan forever! (No offense to Davis and UCSF, they don't have football teams)
3/4 My Davis interview went well. I don't love Sacramento but the school is impressive. I'll know in 4-6 weeks.
2/28 Still no word from UCLA, 4 months after my application was completed. I'd assume it's a rejection but I just got a Davis invite after 4 months.
2/23 Interview invite for 3/3 at Davis. Pretty sure it's for a waitlisted spot. Missing a prerequisite too, not sure what to do about that now.
2/23 Waitlisted at USC. :(
2/21 UCSD finally rejected me and USC told me my decision is in the mail. But they won't say what it is.
2/14 I've accepted the fact that I'm not going to hear from any other UCs at this point. How did I get an interview at UCSF and not at any other UC? Not complaining, just mystified. Please let me UCSF!!!
1/27 What a week! 2 rejections and an interview invite to UCSF! I'd give my right arm to go there. Wish me luck.
1/26 Stanford rejection
1/24 Oh, I am so screwed. It's almost Febuary and I've got no acceptances, 2 pre-interview holds and 2 rejections. Not looking good...That said, I still don't regret turning down Touro. I don't want to relocate in 2 years (they have very few local rotations) only to move again for residency. I have a spouse to consider so moving every 2 years is not an option.
1/4 UCSD pre-interview hold
1/4 Loved USC! Really excited about their program. Waiting for news...
12/5 Georgetown rejection
12/5 Accepted at Touro but I had to decline. They wanted a decision in 2 weeks with a non-refundable $2000 deposit and I really hated the school.
11/29 Interview at Touro!
11/15 On hold at Irvine. But I got the secondary from UCSF - woohoo!
10/31 The August MCAT is definitely slowing things down. No interviews as of Halloween and still no secondary from UCSF.
