I based my selection of schools off of three criteria:
1. Student debt. Figures available through MSAR.
2. Location
3. Dedication to education.
I applied a little too broadly. I was quite surprised by my first rejection, which came from one of my safety schools.
The interview day begins the second you set foot on University/Hospital property, and does not end until you receive the final decision on your admission.
Conversely, you have the opportunity to convince the university of your value of your candidacy from the time the receive your AMCAS, to the time they close your application. Use that time willfully. Be proactive with that special school you know will be a perfect fit. If you are uncomfortable with the idea of being a strong advocate for your application during this process.
