I made the decision to attend med school late (I was 29 at the time) and my undergraduate GPA wasn't all that impressive. I hoped that med schools would be intrigued enough by my story to want to interview me. Happily, several schools did just that. Since I won't have as much time as some to repay my medical school tuition, I'm leaning heavily toward attending one of my state's medical colleges. Although I'm sure many private schools are great, the difference in cost is a powerful factor in my decision.
