please apply to a range of schools. my stats weren't spectacular. this whole process is very stressful, so try to enjoy as much of it as you can.
if possible, take the mcat the summer following your sophmore year. i studied abroad in china for one semester 3rd year. also, research will enhance your application, since all the top medical schools have a research component in the curriculum (at least those i have interviewed at).
don't get discouraged, rejections hurt, but keep your eye on the goal. good luck!
