Summary of Experience:
I was actually a little disappointed with this one. Especially when reading their e-mail. They took the time to outline what they were looking for in their students, and maybe it was because it accompanied a rejection e-mail, but I was very much picking up on a tone of 'these are what we are looking for, and you just don't have it'. Meh.
Summary of Experience:
This was a last minute addition, that I added when I started panicking. I'm just glad that they got back to me so soon, instead of stringing me along until the end of the cycle.
Summary of Experience:
The Q&A breakfast with the dean of admissions, really help set the tone for the rest of the day - casual and friendly.
The tour was given by some very enthusiastic students, and the current students that we passed during the tour (not many, because there was a big exam the following day) were all friendly and excited to see us.
By the time the interview came around, I was a lot calmer. I had two interviewers that took turns asking me questions, and while they did have their computers open to reference my application, I didn't feel as if they were ignoring me. They did have a list of questions that they had to ask me, but they also made sure to ask follow up questions, and remembered details from my primary essay (that I had forgotten) so that I felt like they were interested in me and what I had to say.
Overall, it was a good experience and I can really see myself going there.
Now I just have to wait out the rest of the 5 weeks, waiting for my decision to come in the mail. Ugh, I just want to smack whoever had complained about e-mails not being 'official enough'. I feel like a good compromise would have been an e-mail/phone call, followed by an official letter in the mail.
UPDATE: I was really disappointed with the final decision. I thought that the interview had went well, and I had even come to like what I saw and heard about the school. This was honestly the school that I had the best shot at... The rest of the cycle is probably not going to look too good. I guess I'll start applying to SMP's now...
