Sent in primary, but will not complete secondary. Combination of essay burnout and potential of being "yielded out" means I'm going to save myself the secondary fee.

SR: 7/12 SC: 7/17 R: 12/7. After 5 months of silence, finally an answer. Out of state though I have strong connections to North Carolina and UNC itself, but oh well. No Carolina blue for me!

SR: 7/15 SC: 7/17 R: 8/19 -- Figured I didn't have a great shot being out of state and a bit above their 90th percentile stats, and I appreciate that they sent their decision promptly. Looks like I won't be moving to Madison anytime soon!

SR: 6/27 SC: 6/30 II: 7/19! Some of my ECs done here, so I'm happy to be able to return to Chicago!
IA: Interview day was absolutely incredible. I wasn't sure of how I would fit with this school before the interview, but after visiting, I could definitely see myself thriving there. A big emphasis was placed on collaboration, mentorship from faculty and peers, and interdisciplinary efforts. Especially liked that the Dean of Admissions specifically said, "competition between our students is not tolerated here," as I definitely am looking for a collaborative, friendly environment in a med school. The students all seemed to get along well and, from what I could tell, spent a lot of time outside of class together. Hyde Park and Chicago would be awesome communities to live and learn in, so I'm really hoping for some good news in October!

WL: Putting waitlist here because I've technically been 'continued' since October, but like with Northwestern, really liked it here but would not have chosen it over my current options.

WL: So post-interview (in October) I was told that my decision would be delayed until March. It's now April and I still haven't heard anything, so I'm assuming this is some kind of waitlist/rejection combo. Oh well! Loved it, but wouldn't have picked it over my current choices anyway.

W: This was an incredibly hard school to turn down. They really go out of their way to actively recruit students and I grew such an affinity towards them over the cycle, but I couldn't justify turning down scholarship money and a program that is equally as strong in what I want to do to be so far from my family.

SR: 6/20 SC: 6/30 II: 8/30 :) St. Louis isn't very easy to access from where I'm from, but definitely worth it to check out what this amazing school has to offer! Still hard to believe they invited me... flattered to say the least! A: Hard to believe they invited me to interview, even harder to believe they accepted me!! Thankful to have a tough decision to make come April.
W: While WashU is obviously an incredible school, I couldn't see myself wanting to be in a program with 2-years pre-clinical, and received merit scholarship elsewhere.

A: Accepted late February!!! Was my top choice post-interview. I loved the students and the school.
Was incredibly hard to withdraw this one. I loved Vandy--everyone was down to earth, collaborative, Nashville was amazing, but I felt really at home at a different school that offered me a scholarship. Maybe I'll be back for residency!

SR: 7/5 SC: 7/14 II: 8/4 !!!! One of my top choices going in, and I actually had to re-read the II email a few times to fully believe they had offered me an interview, especially this early in the season. Hoping for the best!
A: Cried for like 20 minutes when I got the email! Most people got phone calls, but my phone was broken over the weekend so if I did receive one, I'll never know. Second Look Weekend here absolutely won me over, between the program, the faculty, and the other students, you could tell everyone was so brilliant and passionate about what they do, but so humble and fun and normal, it just seemed like a great fit. I decided immediately thereafter that I'd be going to Duke, and Dr. Yee called me a few days later informing me that I'd received a half-tuition merit scholarship. That definitely put me over the edge and led me to cancel my trips to other Second Look Weekends. Couldn't be more excited to start here in July.
