Brief Profile:
Involved in a lot of research: Every summer during college and thorughout my Junior and Senior year for about 1500 total hours of research experience. A couple of posters and a manuscript in process.
ECs:
Shadowing: Around 20 hours in a couple of specialties
Volunteering/outreach:
Tutored elementary schoolers with an on-campus org (~100 hours), yearly local mission trips with my church, one org I am a part of does a lot of miscellaneous service in the community. Was also involved in Habitat for Humanity for a year.
Leadership:
Two leadership positions in one org that I have been involved in for all four years of college: one year as a director and one year as an officer. This org is not a "traditional" premed organization but it gave me a lot to talk about on apps and interviews.
NO clinical volunteering.
I like to play music in my spare time!
Letters of Rec:
Four total - An above-and-beyond excellent letter from my research PI of two years, two decent letters from professors, and a good letter from an MD/PhD.
I emphasized research a lot in my application and I hope my major will help me out some if I am on the border. I submitted TMDSAS in early July and AMCAS a bit later. I would've submitted earlier, but I was in Europe for the latter part of May and all of June. Worth.

Summary of Experience:
UTHSCSA has a wonderful med center! And as a student in the med school, you receive a lot of attention it seems. The students were very friendly, but the interviewers grilled all of the applicants on ethical questions. Kinda off-putting. I loved SA and the school though!
Summary of Experience:
I was honestly not feeling A&M. I'm not much a small-town person, but if you are, this is a perfect spot. They have a great program emphasizing medicine in under-served rural populations. Everyone seemed pretty friendly! I just didn't like the idea of being on a different campus than the main campus for a majority of my med school education, and I wouldn't really want to stay in College Station too long.
Summary of Experience:
I participated in the 2 day program for UTSW and attended rounds on Friday before my interview on Saturday. What a great experience! In the SW system, they treat their med students like residents, which would be a great experience, The hospitals are amazing and brand new. UTSW is gaining prominence quickly.
The curriculum just transitioned from 2 year to 1.5 year classroom learning (similar to BCM) which created some headaches, but current students assure me it will be 200% better next year.
I was pretty overwhelmed by this interview day, partially because one of my interviews went pretty badly. It was also my first interview though so that isn't exactly unexpected.
Summary of Experience:
Baylor does not need to work hard to sell you. The interview day hammered home that they had the best Step scores and residency match rankings in the country. I am totally sold. The campus is awesome, I love the medical center, and BCM is an A+ academic institution that caters to research lovers like me.
Summary of Experience:
My favorite interview day by far. The school isn't a top 20 but they make you feel wanted. I really liked that. It gave me the sense that their faculty and students were very down to earth. The medical center is incredible also, and Hermann (their affiliated hospital) was a treat to visit. I would be ecstatic to match here, and I am ranking this school #1.
Accepted off the waitlist to my #1!! What a ride. It's been great so far. Everyone should come here :)
Summary of Experience:
My first acceptance woooooo!!
I was so excited to hear from UTMB. They notified me during the prematch period for in state Texas residents. A little late in the period, but my interview was also relatively late.
The interview day there was very laid back but a tad unorganized. The students were incredibly friendly and genuinely seemed happy and not stressed. The curriculum is solid and the school's step scores are solidly above average. I loved the campus! Feels like it could be home :)
