Summary of Application Experience
August MCATer; Submitted AMCAS late (11/12) but not worried. Not the traditional 'pre-med;' Didn't know to apply to lots of schools (too much money$$$) For other applicants out there, have faith and be confident. Apply to your dream schools! Don't believe too much hype (some info on this website and others is not totally truthful). The key is to distinguish yourself from the rest of the pre-meds out there. Some schools seem to value unique experiences(mine were a doctor of pharmacy degree and years of basic science research). So don't kick yourself for non-stellar MCATS and GPAs. PRAYER WORKS!!!! So give it a try, if you have not already been doing it!
Good luck all!!!!!!!
05/05: Decided to go to Vanderbilt. Had a phenomenal time at second look weekend. Met lots of great people. I wish we could all go to the same med school but I will settle for visiting other schools. Wash U had a great second look and tons of great people also but I had to go with my 'gut' feeling and pick a place that felt more like home.
So Nashville get ready b/c it is going to be a party!!!!!!
