I only applied to the 8 Texas MD medical schools because 1) I thought my chances were better in Texas, and 2) I was interested in staying in Texas.

Reflection: Being such an average applicant, I think I should had applied as soon as possible to gain more interviews. However, that wasn't possible since I procrastinated on the LORs/essays. Also, I think my below average MCAT score did not help me.

Advice: Don't lose hope. If you are waitlisted, send in quality update letters. But make sure the schools are receptive to them first.
