My grades in undergrad were not perfect. I've pursued graduate studies to gain research training and improve my GPA. I have worked in the same lab and have 10 publications, one of which I am first author. I have presented posters at local department meetings and two national meetings.
I have been involved in club volleyball throughout undergraduate and graduate studies. I also coach a girl's club team during the winter.
I volunteered in the PICU for 3 years. I also went on a medical mission trip for two weeks and traveled to China with my lab and got some global health exposure.
It has been difficult to convey my status in the PhD program I am currently enrolled in.
