Brief Profile:
I am a 27 year old, non-traditional student with a BA in Psychology. I began my pre-med sciences in 2010 and am in the process of gearing up for application cycle #3. It has been a long and mostly painful process but I am doing what I can to boost my application to make this a successful cycle coming up in June, 2014.

Summary of Application Experience
I applied to 5 schools in the 2012 application cycle with a terrible application. My mcat was terrible (27 is my most recent and highest out of 3 attempts) and so was my cumulative and science gpa. I am now wrapping up what I assume will be an unsuccessful 2013 application cycle and have been waitlisted at Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. That was my only interview and had multiple rejections and am holding out a slight bit of hope for a couple of other schools. I applied to 12 DO schools for this 2013 cycle.
I will note that I called both PNWU and Western admissions recently to get feedback on my application. Although my cumulative gpa is low, they were very blunt by saying I was outright rejected due to the fact that I had a misdeameanor (alcohol related) and a 1 semester academic probation from way back that I failed to mention what I learned from these incidents. I addressed them in full detail but omitted the learning experience and it is frustrating that I did not even think to mention what I learned (as silly as it sounds now). It was brought up in my ACOM interview and I did explain what I learned but not mentioning my learning experience on AACOMAS proved to be detrimental to my candidacy. I now know how to address this in my next cycle and hopefully others will learn from my mistakes.
I am also re-taking 4 courses and 2 new courses at my local CC and with aacomas grade replacement, my cGPA should bump to ~3.1 and sGPA to ~3.45 assuming I get all A's.
