MCAT Taken: 4/14 (No writing score so "Q" is a placeholder)
Will update with specifics after application process is finally over.
Was waiting so long for Committee letter to finally be complete. I had all secondaries done within 2 weeks of getting them, but wasn't complete until Committee letter came 8/24. A bit late...at the time I got the letter I was worried about timing but it turns out that it didn't affect my application too much - just the timing. I received IIs about 2 months after most people, probably due to the the late Committee letter!
My Thoughts on the Cycle Post Acceptance (3/08/2016):
The cycle has been a long one, especially because most of my interview invites came during the latter half of it. I would say my cycle mirrors a normal applicant's except it was 2 month delayed because HCEC letter didn't arrive until the end of August.
I've been very lucky throughout the entire cycle. With my relatively mediocre GPA, I'm glad I pursued my interests in business as a business minor and a health policy minor to set myself apart from the average applicant. It's important to understand that everything comes together. All the minuscule amounts of effort I put in paid off. Successes like these are never 50+50 = 100%, it's always 1%+1%+1%+etc. = 100%.
The process was nerve wracking and I don't know what I would have done without the support of my parents and my friends around me. Even as someone who is particularly relaxed, I felt anxious sometimes. Feel free to PM me with any questions or concerns and I'd be happy to help. I do believe that anyone who truly wants to get into medical school can get in. It's all a matter of the amount of effort you really put into it. Spend the time to network and get information from others and make sure that information is accurate.
Deferral for Matriculation (5/23/2016):
I'm deferring matriculation for a number of reasons but am so far glad to be doing it. I'm taking some time off to rest/recuperate and just mature as a young adult as I continue working for the Healthcare Consulting company I'm currently at.
