Summary of Experience:
I had a really wonderful time on interview day at UW. The panel interview was a little intimidating, and they really push to stay within the 30 minute time limit. Some people reported having a very casual, informal conversation with their interviewers, but I was asked question after question, many of them difficult ones. There was a true role play, not just a discussion of a scenario, but they do ask you what you were thinking while enacting the role play so you have a chance to explain yourself.
All the students we met with seemed very comfortable and relaxed, apparently due to the pass/fail grading during the first two years and the flexibility of having classes video recorded and not starting til 12:30 part of first and all of second year.
I was also VERY impressed by their ISIS lab, and they even let me try out the laproscopic surgery simulator!
