Brief Profile:
I didn't decide to apply to medical school until after I graduated from college in 2012. Luckily I had majored in biology and computer science, so I didn't have much catching up to do. I have tried to create this profile while maintaining some amount of anonymity. Hopefully some people find it helpful.
Application Basics: cGPA: 3.89; sGPA: 3.89 (Biology major, computer science minor) MCAT: 38 (13, 11, 14) CA resident for past year, grew up in OH
ECs: - A lot of research (3 summers + 1 gap year full time, 10-20 hrs/week during all 4 school years) ranging from chemistry to computer science to molecular biology research. - NCAA Division 1 athlete with multiple conference and national student athlete awards. - Various non-clinical volunteering experiences during college - Scribe work for ~5 months after graduation - >200 clinical volunteering hours and shadowing
My assessment: I have a strong application numbers-wise and I also have some interesting ECs, but my clinical experiences and community service is lacking due to my late decision to apply.
