Summary of Application Experience
02/03/14: I sent update letters with my Fall 2013 grades to all the schools that haven't rejected me yet. Hoping that this will snag me one of those final interview spots. I'm getting really, really nervous. --- 01/30/14: Can't believe it's already the end of January. I attended two interviews since my last update: Tulane and Albany Medical College. I've heard back from Tulane so far (Acceptance Range/ Waitlist) and I'm not taking the news too well. At this point of the cycle, I'm really worried I won't get into anywhere. I've decided to be more proactive and have been sending letters of interests to all schools that are receptive to them. I want to become a doctor and will do everything I can to maximize the likelihood that I'll get another interview invitation. This has been by far the most humbling, borderline de-moralizing, experience I have ever been through. --- 11/25/13: Attended both my UCR and Touro interview recently. I absolutely fell in love with the UCR program. Everyone was so friendly and enthusiastic. There are only 50 spots that are going to be offered, with up to 25 being reserved for UCR undergrads. I really hope I can snag a spot. In comparison, Touro was a bit disappointing. Campus was not as new and the overall energy of the program was lacking. --- 11/07/13: Got the small pooled email from Rosalind Franklin today. I was a little shocked since I haven't heard back from them for over 8 weeks. Thought it was going to be a silent rejection. Here's to hoping that I'll be receiving an II soon. --- 10/30/13: Interview invite from TUCOM-CA. Scheduled it so it'll be back to back with my UCR interview. Excited. --- 10/29/13: Interview invite from Albany Medical College. It's not until January though so I'm hoping for some more invites in the meantime. --- 10/16/13: Interview invite from UC Riverside. I'm hoping for some more love from CA schools. -- 09/20/13: Got my first rejection from UCSF (pre-secondary). This was expected, but still feel a little bummed. --- 09/23/13: Yay! First interview invite from Tulane. I almost didn't apply to the school because of the steep secondary application fee. Thank goodness I did! The more I research about the school, the more excited I am. ---
Summary of Experience:
Received an unofficial acceptance via email today. Extremely quick turnaround. --- Realized that if I were to be accepted, I would have to pay a 2k non-refundable deposit by the end of December in order to secure a spot. Pretty much decided that regardless of the admission decision, this school is pretty much a pass. Didn't particularly like the school and not willing to commit 2k, especially if I have 2 interviews scheduled in January.
