Bio Major, Environmental Studies Minor, Honors in the Liberal Arts
Activities: 1)Awards: national merit scholar, all-state scholar, incoming scholarship from the university, general scholarship from the university as a junior, undergraduate research scholar award, dean's list all 6 semesters, phi beta kappa 2)Student rep on a board of directors for a bio course 3)Psych vision research, 1 year, will have 1 or 2 publications by the end of my time in the lab, was awarded an undergraduate research scholar award for my hard work thus far 4)Student rep for the honors program 5 and 6)Hospital volunteering. Most recent "job" has a ton of direct patient interaction and is one of my most meaningful experiences 7)Volunteer tutor for a bio class 8)Member of a student org that teaches science using inquiry based methods to elementary school kids in local area schools 9)Waited tables at a restaurant the past 2 summers 10)Lifeguarded/taught swim lessons the past 5 summers and some during the high school academic year 11)AED 12)Physician shadowing (ortho, FP, Anesthesiology, Ophthalmology, ENT), about 50 hours total 13)Habitat for humanity spring break trip 14)Member of a nationally recognized men's a cappella group, also arrange songs for the group and was publicity manager for a year 15)Hobbies: music and sports. I also play piano and guitar with my singing, and for sports I play basketball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, frisbee golf, golf, tennis, racquetball, and soccer, and I run, bike, swim, and lift weights as well.
