Brief Profile:
I am an international student who completed her Undergraduate and Masters (Public Health) degrees in the US. I don't have the greatest stats but I am hoping for the best.
ECs: - Medical Volunteering at 2 hospitals: about 150 hours - Variety of Non-Clinical Volunteering: about 320 hours - Honors Thesis: one year - Public Health Research: 2 projects; about a year/170 hours total; one presentation - Shadowing: about 10 hours - Summer employment in hospitals: 2 summers - Involved in School Clubs: President of one, exec board position in 2 others - Tutoring/ TAing: two programs for a year each - Study Abroad: one semester
8/27/2013: Officially done with all secondaries, now it's just time to wait. 10/18/2013: First acceptance- I'm going to be a doctor! 3/10/2014: With the exception of one silent rejection from Jefferson, I have heard back from all my schools. Application cycle officially done. 11 Interview invites, attended 9 and received 5 acceptances, 2 wait lists and 2 rejections out of that. I have had a lot more success than I could have ever imagined and have no complaints whatsoever. I think a lot can be said for being passionate about what you do and staying genuine throughout the process. Now to decide where I will go in the Fall.
