Brief Profile:
Applied to 3 medical schools in Ontario, Canada during junior year of undergrad. Was wait-listed at one. Applied to US schools for first time in senior year of undergrad (last year). Was wait-listed at two. Accepted off waitlist to one, withdrew from other.
Did not apply with my MPhil degree (my current school program), but my acceptance was one of my waitlist updates. I'm not sure if updating that I was accepted to a Masters program and indicating that I would seek deferral helped me get off the waitlist, but it's possible I suppose.
06/12/2014: Accepted off the waitlist to NYU!!! 06/13/2014: Granted deferral so I can finish my current graduate degree and then enter with the class of 2019.
I would be happy to answer any questions about my experience, ECs etc.
